Re: M_Boats: Perhaps the M-17 is not for me... M-15?
Andrei, You really don't need two people to rig an M17. I'm 64 years old and weigh a lot more than I should, and I don't have any trouble rigging my M17. It does take longer to rig an M17 than an M15 but the difference isn't that much. How fast you can right and launch your boat depends a lot more on how organized you are than on the differences in the two boats. If I were organized (as unlikely as being hit by a meteorite) to go day sailing, ie not having to put alot of stores on board, I can reasonably expect to rig and launch my M17 well within 30 minutes. I usually take a lot longer because most of my trips are for 5 days to two weeks and there is a lot more to put onboard and organize (there's that nasty word again). There may be other, more appropriate reasons for choosing the M15 over the M17, but in my opinion rigging and launching time shouldn't be one of them.
