RE: M_Boats: Refurbishing M-15 trailer
I believe that information from when I rebuilt the trailer for my 1983 M-15 will be in the archives, if you search for "trailer" and "Umiaq". If not, I'd be pleased to answer any questions. My main source of parts was Champion Trailer (http://www.championtrailers.com/). The other issue was refinishing of the frame itself, but I simply couldn't find anybody in my area who was willing to do it at anything like a reasonable price -- you may have better luck if you live in a place where they actually make things. I'd say that it wasn't particularly hard, but it took a while.
The boat has no eye-hook so I just tie the line from the winch to the bow cleats
I find that the bow fitting for the forestay is more convenient, but it probably doesn't matter much. Giles Morris Vancouver 25 "Dolphin" Montgomery 15 "Umiaq" Sundry small craft
Thanks Giles. I searched the archives on the owner's site and didn't see your postings about trailers. Should I look somewhere else?
