Re: M_Boats: montgomery_boats Digest, Vol 87, Issue 7
Hey John, Tell us more about that Hawaii trip. Last time I was there I discovered a very neglected M-15 in the marina across from the Ala Moana shopping center in Waikiki. I've been delighted with my 04 Tundra - V8 - not 4 wheel drive - pulls my M-15 like it isn't there and pulls my 5th wheel RV like it isn't there, except it seems to have a greater affection for gas stations pulling the RV. My original tow vehicle for the boat was a 1981 Mazda 1000 and that handled it very well from Texas to Kansas to Texas to Virginia. In fact, the Mazda is still running but I will not trust my lovely M-15 to it any longer. Stan M-15 Carol II 1981 #177
Hey Stan, A few years back I saw the same M15 tied to a slip on theouter wall of Ali Wai Harbor. I'm pretty sure it was the M15 someone sailedto Hawaiifrom the west coast. It was rigger withtwo tracks on the mast for dual head sails. I seem to remember it had otherreinforcements done to it but nothingmajor. It had a US Coast Guard stickeron it and I seem to remember it was owned by someone in the CG. I took some picsof it, but they didn't turn out very clear. I tried to post them on this sitebut wasn't able to. A few years later I saw the same sailboat atthe same harbor but this time it was on a trailer by the Harbor Masters building. I looked again for it last month but couldn't find it.
