Hello Ian, I cut carefully through the bottom layer of fiberglass with a Rotozip spiral cutting tool. I tried to use the depth jig, but it did not allow enough clearance next to the hull. Thus, I used the roto free hand. It was a nerve racking operation. You need to be so careful to not cut into the top layer of glass. Don't have too much coffee before the operation.
