PLEASE don't respond to sender when you want to post a response, it just repeats all the treads. Its simpler and cleaner to start a new thread with your response. Easier to read and comprehend. As an example I started a new thread rather than just hit respond to sender. MANY thanks for taking a minute to get this. Smiley, M15 Another Wrinkle #616 magoo252@comcast.net
It repeats the thread if you allow it to. It only takes a second to delete all the line of inquiry but the most recent response or two, which in my mind aids continuity and maintains the original subject line, though you are correct, most don't think to do that... t On Tue, Apr 3, 2012 at 7:24 PM, Karen and Smiley <magoo252@comcast.n tet> wrote:

I get what you are saying. Interesting how we view things differently. I have always thought that responding with the thread allows one to keep the conversation together and quickly scroll down if you need to refer to earlier comments/questions without closing one message and opening another. You don' have to look at everything below the current message, but it is there if you need it. Bill On Tue, Apr 3, 2012 at 10:24 PM, Karen and Smiley <magoo252@comcast.net>wrote:

If his/her message wasn't below yours, I wouldn't have known what you were talking about. Perhaps he/she doesn't receive individual messages but instead a bulk mailing, meaning he/she would get messages repeated between original messages? Tod
Yes, the problem is with digest users who post without deleting most of the string of messages they received. I too appreciate that I can follow a thread by simply scrolling down to see what is being replied to. Rik On Wed, Apr 4, 2012 at 7:16 AM, Tod <htmills@zoominternet.net> wrote:

I would like very much to ensure (and in some cases I have) that any man who offers violence to his fellow citizen begets a whole lot more in return than he can enjoy.”- Col. Jeff Cooper
I guess my comment had mostly to do with digest users. I'm on another list as a digest recipient and it can be a pain looking down the list of responses for more information on a subject. t
Tom- what are digest users? I've found that if I eat oatmeal for breakfast, I digest more better. Is that what you mean? jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom Smith" <openboatt@gmail.com> To: "For and about Montgomery Sailboats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 04, 2012 8:10 AM Subject: Re: M_Boats: Responding to queries on the forum
