I also made a new tiller for my M-15. This was necessitated by another one of my "stupid boat tricks." A couple of winters ago I decided to refinish my tiller and rudder. The refinishing went very well and I was quite pleased with the results. When I went to reattach the hardware, however I had a bit of a problem getting one of the bolts to go through the tiller. Not being one to allow a simple matter of size get in the way, I decided to get my hammer and "tap" the bolt through. You can see it coming, of course, the bolt ripped out a significant portion of the bottom side of the tiller... Fortunately I had some oak flooring left over from a project so I ripped these to size and laminated them together. Since this was a custom project, I decided to add about 6 inches to the length which I have appreciated having as it allows me to sit a bit forward. This was a simple project that only took a few evenings to do. By the way, when attaching the hardware, I made sure the hammer was no where near... John Hippe M-15
