Towing with Jeep Cherokee
Any comments on towing an M15/17 with a Jeep Cherokee 4.0 liter, 4 X 4., (automatic/manual) particularly in high mountain altitudes? Thank's, Rich Cottrell
The automatic should tow either boat with no problems whatsoever. My Flicka is 6,000 lbs+ with trailer and my friend tows her with his 4.0 liter automatic Cherokee, no sweat. He has a transmission cooler. Unless the Cherokee has some sort of altitude problem (I rode in an Oldsmobile 98 that kept getting "vapor lock" in Winter Park, Co.), it should handle the load with ease and finesse. ----- Original Message ----- From: <rc2222@postoffice.pacbell.net> To: "Montgomery Boats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Saturday, December 21, 2002 5:03 PM Subject: Towing with Jeep Cherokee Any comments on towing an M15/17 with a Jeep Cherokee 4.0 liter, 4 X 4., (automatic/manual) particularly in high mountain altitudes? Hi Rich I tow a M17 with a 92 Jeep Cherokee, 4 liter. It's a automatic & does not have 4 wheel drive. Has 128,000 miles on it (& showing signs of aging as I am). I have not had any problems, however the terrain on the Texas Gulf Coast is pretty flat.I do have the factory installed towing package which I understand is a transmission fluid cooling radiator, I'm sure that helps. If you have a standard I think that would be a added bonus, particularly towing in the mountains.
