RE: M_Boats: Interesting boat spotted in Monterey Bay No, I think it was one too many sugar cubes in the late 60s or70s, BTW it looks to be a live aboard too.
That is the M15 named Eye of Infinity. Interesting dude, to say the least. There are, or at least were, some earlier pictures of it on the Montgomery photo site. The guy sailed it clear down to La Paz years ago, with the intention of going on down and thru the canal, up the east coast, and into the great lakes. Life interupted and he never made it any further. The boat sat in front of his house in Monterey as a lawn ornament for several years. He tried to sell it on the M list for a while, but it was a mess. He had it out sailing around during the Monterey Cruiser Challenge last year, but as far as I know he never talked to any of the other Montgomery sailors at the event or took part in any way. I talked to him at the CC last year- he's the same guy. He added a lot of weight up high on the boat- standing headroom, etc. -----Original Message----- From: Larry Yake Sent: Friday, July 17, 2015 8:40 PM To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats Subject: Re: M_Boats: strange boat That is the M15 named Eye of Infinity. Interesting, I had figured the boat was outfitted for some big trip... but adding that much stern weight and windage would be problematic. Googling the name, I found there is a photo of it under sail in the August 2014 Potter Yachter newsletter: http://potter-yachters.org/members/2014_08.pdf And here are the old photos on MSOG you mentioned: http://www.msogphotosite.com/M15eyeofinfin.html Tyler Davis, CA M15 #157 "Defiant"
