Rodney, I do wood work for boats and have done this type of replacement work before, most recently a C & C 26. I would be glad to work with you on this if you are interested. I assume from the name of the boat that you are in Texas. What part. I am near Tyler. As has already been said, I would have to have the pieces in hand to match. You might be able to find prefabricated hand rails that would work but the other parts will definitely have to be custom made. Let me know. Feel free to contact me throught the list or through my website JOWoodworks.com JohnJohn OwensJ O Woodworks903-894-6293870 CR 3812Troup, Texas 75789www.jowoodworks.comjohn@jowoodworks.com> From: montgomery_boats-request@mailman.xmission.com> Subject: montgomery_boats Digest, Vol 61, Issue 20> To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Date: Mon, 24 Mar 2008 16:22:24 -0600> > Send montgomery_boats mailing list submissions to> montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit> http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/montgomery_boats> or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to> montgomery_boats-request@mailman.xmission.com> > You can reach the person managing the list at> montgomery_boats-owner@mailman.xmission.com> > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific> than "Re: Contents of montgomery_boats digest..."> > > Today's Topics:> > 1. newbie (Vincent G. Would these pieces be standard enough year to year that I could be confident they would fit the same screw holes, etc? I’m cursed with the love of properly cared for and varnished bright work and want to have that on our new boat(named it Texas Doghouse, maybe I’ll share that story one evening with you). The teak that is there is in really bad shape, and to properly do the hand rails, they will have to be sanded down so much that I don’t think they could be trusted for their original purpose. They are already way too thin and need probably an eighth of an inch of sanding to get them smooth in some places.> > Again, I don’t know how standard these things are, but mine has the rails, the companionway hatches, the pieces on each side and bottom of the companionway opening, and there 3 or 4 strips along the top of the sliding hatch that would dress things up nicely if replaced.
