Wow, Does this mean I can go to a 4hp for the M23? John Vigor has this formula which calls for 4hp for each ton of boat displacement. Seems close to me. Bones I bought the 2 hp Honda long-shaft for my M-17, and have been very happy with it with almost a year's experience. It weighs only 27 lb, is super-reliable, always starts, and for getting in and out of dock can't be beat. That said, I sail in protected water (Potomac River near DC), and have no experience with it in a heavy sea, but the previous owner kept the boat on Chesapeake Bay for a couple of seasons with an identical engine and recommended it highly. ____________________________________________________________ Fabulous Spa Getaway! Hi Bones, For just moving the boat in calm conditions that probably will work. ....on the other hand if you are thinking of towing a water skier, then 4 HP won't be enough.... Connie bownez@juno.com wrote:
