Greetings, Just want to pass on a "cool" find. If any of you are interested in little flashlights that are sized just right for your Montgomery I have a suggestion. I found this at my local Walmart and being an official flashlight aficionado I had to try it. Made by DORCY and called COOLBLUE. It's a single, focused LED that provides a slightly blue tinted light beam. It runs on 4 AA batteries for a stated 200 hours, and it is just hand sized. IMHO it is just right for a life jacket pocket for night sailing or over nighting on the boat. The best part yet, it is WATERPROOF and FLOATS, and will go home with you for just at $8.00, that includes your first set of batteries, and has a "lifetime guarantee". Sure wish I had the patent on this one ;-) Happy Sails to You, Harvey & Deena H M-15 #348 " Pelican" Walla Walla, WA
Hi Harvey and Deena, Thanks for the info on the flashlight at Wal Mart. Being waterproof, float able and small it sounds like just the ticket. Don Olson M15 Phoenix, Az
Harvey, What department did you find it in? Hi Peter, I noticed your question to Harvey about the location of the flashlight. I was at Wal Mart today and they have a flashlight section by the camping and sporting goods. I had a bit of trouble locating the "Cool" flashlight because I assumed it was pen like in size because of the batteries. Instead it looks like it should take D batteries and I would guess it is 3 or 4 inches in diameter. It is yellow with black at both ends if memory serves correctly. It did have a tag indicating it was a new item. Hope this helps. Don Olson M15 Phoenix, Az
Thanks, Don. I'll check out the local WalMart and see if it's available in Canada. -Peter- =============================== Peter Jacobs M17 "Enfin" Victoria BC Canada ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Olson" <don-keg@cox.net> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, April 15, 2002 4:42 PM Subject: Re: M_Boats: Cool Flashlight

Ok, I got mine this week. Hard to believe it will last the advertised 200 hours on 4 AAs. It is made by DORCY and call just an LED flashlight now. The words COOLBLUE were nowhere on the package. The store I was in had it in the flashlight section with camping gear. Also got another Dorcy that was so cute my wife couldn't pass it up. It has a conventional bulb, is even shorter than COOLBLUE, also takes 4 AAs, and is not waterproof. But it has an adjustable focus beam and a bail handle with detents so you can set it down pointed in any direction. If I remember, it was $4.99. Also got a pack of 24 AAs.
