The most fabulous day!!
Well guys, I have to share with you all the most fabulous day I've had with my M15. First off I have to tell you that two weeks ago, I retired, that's right, I am no longer working. So, when today dawned a brisk, fall kind of day, with nice winds I was able to say, I have no plans, no place to be, so I'm going to hook up the boat and head for the lake. It was absolutely, the best day I've had since I got the boat. With no pressure at the launch ramp, I could take all the time I needed and screw up as much as I always do with no one hurrying me. Since I'm single handing it, there are some challenges with the launch but once off the trailer and tied up at the dock with the truck parked, I raised sails while at the dock. I got to feel the boat do her stuff. She had some gusts which caused her to heel over some, maybe 15' but towards the late afternoon, the winds got even more brisk and we were humming. The dock and ramp are on the south side of the lake and the wind was from the north so, I was able to sail her right back to the dock. Only had to use the motor to drive her back up on the trailer. What a blast! The biggest challenges are launch and retrieval when single handing. Once you drive the boat onto the trailer, have to scramble off the bow end, and secure to the trailer winch. No way to do all this without getting wet! All well and good as long as I am nimble and quick. Anyway, just had to share the high with all you like minded folk! Time for a cool change!
