I love this little boat!
Got my new sails on Saturday, launched on Sunday, had the best sail of the season yesterday! Only a few more days, sadly, before I have to haul her for the winter. Hi Rich, I have a buoy on upper Lake Minnetonka through the city of Mound. I'd love to see your boat and compare notes sometime. On Fri, Oct 17, 2014 at 4:09 PM, Rich Makela <richmak@makelaperformance.com> wrote:

Henry, Great pix and a beautiful boat! Is that a Ruddercraft kickup rudder? I really like mine, except that it warped so that the tip is a couple of inches out of line. Have you had that problem? Thanks, Rick M17#633 Lynne L On Friday, October 17, 2014, Henry Rodriguez <heinzir@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks Rick, Yes, that is a Ruddercraft rudder. This was its first time in the water so I can't speak to any problems with it. I do have a Ruddercraft rudder, lower blade only, on my VN23 that has been working fine for about 5 years. I bought the rudder for the M17 primarily because I need a kick-up rudder because of shallow water and weeds where I sail. I could have converted the existing rudder but felt too pressed for time. The Idasailor rudder was a quick and easy, although expensive, solution. My darling wife bought it for me for our 40th anniversary! Henry, You're a lucky man, both in your boat and your admirable wife. I had a manual IdaSailor kickup rudder (no hydraulic strut) which I found I couldn't get back down if it hit bottom in windy conditions, leaving me with an almost unmanageably heavy helm from the partially raised blade. I bought the new Ruddercraft for safety reasons. The expense was worth the peace of mind. Rick M17 #633 Lynne L On Sat, Oct 18, 2014 at 8:28 AM, Henry Rodriguez <heinzir@gmail.com> wrote:
