Re: M_Boats: Bottom paint - Earth to Stan!!!
My suggestion to you would be to go to an expert for advice.... Our own "Paintboy", Stan Susman, is Interlux's Tech Rep and can give you definitive answers. If you post a message to "Paintboy" on the "Sailhavasu" message board he will see it and answer. He may even see it on here. Earth to Stan...Earth to Stan!!! You out there Paintboy???!! Bottom paint questions are best left to someone like Stan as you will find that most of "us" will give advice based on "what we know" or "what we've used" in the past. While that kind of advice can better than nothing, ...this is not always the case ...going to the expert will get you all your options. I think we can all agree that bottom painting in nasty, miserable, and expensive work. You want to do it once and have it last as long as possible. An error or omission in prep work, or applying incompatible products can lead to a costly disaster. Give Stan a shout. He's a Monty Sailor too! In fact, he just bought a brand new M17 from Bob and totally tricked it out with a carbon deck, free standing carbon rig, huge square top main, bulb keel, etc! Pretty darn cool and bound to be a rocket ship! Sean M23 "Dauntless" M17FD "Sneakers"
