I understand that the spinnaker tack attaches ahead of the forestay, but on MY boat anyway, that would just mean it would hit the bow pulpit all that much more, since the bow pulpit is just fore of the forestay -- UNLESS it is raised up so that the foot of the spinnaker were ABOVE the pulpit -- is that what you mean? OR -- has anyone ever thought of a bowsprit on an M15, or is that crazy? I think it would look pretty cool....

Steve, Remember that the luff of the sail arches upward, it's not a straight line like the forestay. I would guess my pulpit is a foot or so forward of the forestay, measured on a horizontal plane at the top of the pulpit, and the wind tugs the sail outward and forward so it's outboard of the pulpit. Regarding the look of a bowsprit, Nor'Sea offers a bow anchor-roller that looks like a sprit. Practical with a touch of class.
