Is this the same cleat that was original equipment on the old M-17's? I replaced mine with Hereshoff design cleats a few years ago. The old ones are still with my spare boat supplies. I could probably be talked out of one. ;-) By the way, the Sept./ Oct. issue of Good Old Boat has an article on how to shine up old deck hardware and cleats. We'll probably use the same home pattern on the cleats for the 16 I'm working on so hang in there til next summer or so. I like that cleat (maybe because I designed it) and it works well.

Bummer...Sorry the cleats didn't work out. Maybe the flag supplier will take them back for a refund or restocking fee. Anyway it was worth a try. None of the other cleats I found had the same "flat top" shape.
In the grand scheme of things, you're right that the spacing of the mounting holes is priority 1.

Thanks for the offer. My M-15 aft cleat measures 5 and 1/8" tip to tip, black anodized, not painted. If this is the same cleat I only need to buy one. Can this work? Let me know. My cleat has the mark CW, with the C superimposed over the W..... ---Thanks Larry. --- Larry Hughston in Sacramento at 95815 -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces+larry.hughston=dgs.ca.gov@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces+larry.hughston=dgs.ca.gov@mailman.xmiss ion.com] On Behalf Of Larry E Yake Sent: Thursday, December 03, 2009 6:42 PM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: M_Boats: Broken cleat, M-15 Is this the same cleat that was original equipment on the old M-17's?
