Hey Bill, sorry to hear the tale of your health and boat purchase. Hope you are feeling better by the time we get to your area this summer. Still no takers on Coyote. As we leave on July 1, perhaps we need to reword the For Sale column at that time to indicate that the boat is in storage until fall. No sense advertising something with no one home to respond. Another silly thought for you: Why don't you buy Coyote, spend your recovery time puttering the boat into perfect shape and have a boat ready and waiting when you are. You could have the fun of "polishing the fenders" as Billy Joel would say. Coyote would be much less of an investment for you and if you do decide to get the 15 later on, you could underwrite that purchase with the sale of a "perfect" flush deck. Just a thought. Get well quickly and we will see in Oregon sometime in September. John
Thanks for the kind words John: These things have been going on for years, so it's nothing new. I guess I'm just ready to deal with fixing it. Years back they wanted to fuse some of my neck vertebrae as a "maybe" cure. Up until last week I thought that was the only possible help. You know that I've thought (dreamed) about owning Coyote ever since you sent me the photos. Problem is me, not the craft. The mast is to heavy, the outboard is to heavy, and, and, and. I need a little boat. Actually that's the same reason I put my past M17 up for sale. Great craft - just not suitable. Here's one: I loved the Potter 15 (same rigging as the M15) I just got scared to many time almost tipping her over. So, for me the M15 is the boat. And, I've got the Photo Site to putter on... I wouldn't need a craft to make new. One of the fun parts for whom ever ends up with her is the future Cruiser Challenges and other races. Jerry Montgomery's arm could be twisted a little and I'll guess if he had time, he would love to crew (master) on Coyote, in part, just to show up the 20 plus footers (again). That would be so much fun... The perfect racer candidate is Sean Mulligan or Jason Thompson... Both live around the corner from you, already know the M17 and are racer trained. Coyote would be perfect in their hands. Plus we would get some awesome photos! (just thinking again). See you in September John - Dungeness Crabs beware! Bill www.MSOGPhotoSite.com P.s. I'll put a "Not at home note" until fall. Or, just drop her off in Salem, OR on they way buy. I'll broker her and keep her fresh by sailing her a little - What an offer!
