Re: M_Boats: Inflatable Dinghy's
Beaching & still anchoring out... How about an anchor line that stretches. Set your stern anchor in deep water, 50 foot from shore. motor in and drop a bank anchor or tie up to a rock/tree/etc. Unload the boat and let her go back out with the tension of the Anchor Buddy's stretching stern line. They've been out for years and sell well in the fancy fiberglass powerboat arena. If you happen to get the Overton's Ski catalog, you'll find them there. Or go to: http://www.anchorbuddy.com/
From experience, they work very well. It may be the stretch helps keep the anchor set when there is moderate wave and wind. I have used the Anchor Buddy in lakes only - no salt water. However, I can't see why it wouldn't be fine... it's all synthetic. The boat I used this on was a powerboat with 20" sides. The added freeboard of sailboats may tax the usefulness. I will be seeing how well they work as soon as I add a sailboat to the fleet. Bill
