Well then, while we're all in a state of partial and full confusion, let's pick a date for the cruise. The second week of June sounds good to me and Doug has already been working on his schedule. Frank and I were planning to cruise the Ottawa River the week before the North Channel Cruise and I'm hoping to get to Lake Champaign next summer, probably after the NCC, so getting dates in order would be helpful. I not sure Frank's boss will give him (3) weeks in a row off from work anyway. Rick Langer M15 #337 Bluebird

I had saved your old one for reference when I planned my trip there.

Okay, Doug!
BTW, that post I wrote that you replied to: It sounds like something I wrote before my last trip there three years ago. Is that correct?
Thanks,
Tod

I'm planning on a two week North Channel Cruise in mid June. I'll probably drive from Ohio to Tobermory, take the Chi-Cheemaun ferry over to South Baymouth (Manitoulin Island), and then drive to Little Current (Manitoulin Island) on Saturday June 5th. I might end up taking the ferry on the morning of the 6th depending on how late I hit the road.
At the present time I'm thinking of making a general counter clockwise spin around the North Channel, launching at Spider Bay Marina in Little Current and going north and then west to the Bustard Islands and west and then crossing south to the west end of Manitoulin and returning east again. Of course, all plans are subject to the weather and whims of the person at the helm!
Mid June will probably be a bit ahead of the crowd and still kinda nippy.
There is some info on the area at:

If anyone else is planning on a trip up there, perhaps we can meet up!

No problem Rick...I asked my boss at work...he said NO...so I quite ...didn't want this job anyway!! Now....the other 'boss'...Judy...will have to be handled a bit more diplomatically.Lake Champlain sounds good...lookin for company ???
I was looking for some info on Bernard Stamm and found his site. On the front page in the upper rh corner is a promo video of him (and one crew member...must be pre race trials) and his boat on a very windy sun lit day barreling along on a broad reach at what appears to be 20 plus knots. Wonderful footage shot from a chopper. Dramatic and beautiful. If you are interested, the page and the vid on my connection (not wonderful) took a while to load...but was worth the wait. Just go to the page and the vid loads all by itself. Cheers, Tim D. #369 'Puff' M17 http://www.bernard-stamm.com/ ====================================================
