Hi Listers, I had a Johnson 6hp on my M-17, and I have replaced it with a Yamaha 4hp 4 stroke. Seems to have ample power and easy on gas. There is a bit more vibration with the single cylinder. The M-23 has a 10 hp Honda 4 stroke. On another note, there was a 86 M-17 listed in the Mpls classifieds last Sunday, with motor and trailer. $6000.00 B/O. I have NOT seen it. 651-429-6331.
