This looks like a nice lake for early sailing without the cold discomfort of Lake Michigan before early July (if that). I've never been there, but it looks net on the Google and the map. Has anyone been out there this year already this year? I am thinking mid May, while my wife is out of town for a week. I would welcome company, and/or any suggestions. My M15, bought last year is getting a new Lehr 5.0L propane outboard, Mainsail slugs. These and other items are going to include a look around at Larson Marine in Waukegan, IL and the sail maker in Racine, WI.(He said he would take care of the luff slugs for me while I wait an hour or two). So maybe I will find a marine store there too. Jim Dahlquist Palatine, IL jim@dhlqst.com
Jim I am in the process of restoring a '96' M15 just purchased this March. It has been on the hard for a number of years and needed so TLC. I am just finishing the Brightwork 6 coats of Cetol and will be replacing the Portlights next week. Have all new running rigging to go. Had the sails reconditioned by Sail Care also converted to sail slugs. All lines are being led to the cockpit. Need to add single line reefing for the Main, a Jib downhaul and retractable lazy jacks that should make single handling safe. Keep me in the loop concerning your trip. Right now I am looking at attending the Potter Weekend at the Muncie Sailing Club May 17-19. Water is not as big as Winnebago but will have a group of small boat sailors to enjoy.
