John, You will definitely need fairleads on your furling line. It is very important to get the line to feed in and out of the drum in the middle. Otherwise, when you try to unfurl your sail, the line will wind too much to one side and will fill that side of the drum and bind up before the sail is fully unfurled. Mine are bullseye fairleads running along the toe rail. The last (at the bow) is a small block that is mounted to a leg of the bow pulpit with a u-bolt. My cleat is a simple horn cleat mounted on the gunnel. Rik John L. Gonzalez wrote:
