any diesel expert available
to anyone who knows diesel, how close is diesel fuel , type used in cars and boats, to kerosene fuel used in lamps and small heaters. I found a tiny three hp diesel and considering just what it will take to install and get fuel, that includes getting fuel if no diesel is available to some dockage. It is little heavy and is air cooled but if installed with a full feathering prop the weight would be centrally located and would be supply a warm cabin to be sure. It does not have and can not be ordered with a transmission so the full feathering prop (reversible) would be important. So far all the numbers are not in but it would look like something to the order of 3 1/2 knots for three hours per gallon, it has a 4 amp - 12 volt charger combo starter and is also comes with a hand start with crank on flywheel.
Please, is this a currently made diesel? What kind is it? Thanks, Tod
