Hi Dik- The storm jib IS really small, but it works great- totally out of proportion to its size. Wouldn't be without one.

With all this talk of reefing, heaving to, I often find myself in the thick of things wishing I could use a smaller head sail. I have a 150 genoa and a std jib. Does any one have a recomendation for the size of the headsail to use when reefed? I thought a storm headsail was the right way to go but have been told that is terribley small. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I'm kind of partial to Kern's Sails, partly because he's my old sailing buddy, but most sailmakers are just fine. Srotm jibs are not very demanding to make; they need to be flat and strong.
