Had a couple of other things to add to that cockpit drain picture. I drilled six holes in the aft cockpit wall then sawed out between them so each corner of the hole would be radiused to spread out the stresses inherent in a working boat hull. After much searching on something to replace the long leaf catcher drain tube installed in the factory for the cockpit drain I hit upon buying a radiator hose of the proper dimension for the existing drain sleeves I had to connect. I made sure the radiator hose had two right angles cast into it at the factory. Then cut those out and connected them together with pvc tubing and elbows and ss clamps. There is little room and not much elevation change to work with in routing the water out of the cockpit and through the hull fitting cast into the hull. These two right angle tubes and pvc products allowed me to get the job done. A quick blast of a garden hose is able to clean the run now since it is very short.
