Re: M_Boats: Hello from Seattle
Hi Rob, My wife and I have been sailing our M17 in the Seattle area and have yet to meet up with another Montgomery owner. We are also interested in taking a trip up to the San Juans before the end of summer. Where do you normally sail from (besides Lk. Wa, Lk. Union?) Maybe we could meet up next trip out...I would like to see another M17 under sail and also would like to get a picture of our boat on a good point of sail. We have put in at Gray's Harbor (WA coast), Elliott bay, Lake WA, Sandpoint, and Port of Everett (many times) but I would also be up for any other WA location. We wanted to try a trip from Everett to Port Townsend and back, but I am unsure how we could work it into a weekend without night sailing (which I am not totally against). Rick M17-635 Eidolon
Hey Rick, I haven't seen another M-boat on the waters up here either. I drove past a trailored M-15 in the Greenlake neighborhood the other day but that's it. The first year I had Aegir I moored in Lake Union to get my feet wet (first time sailing ever). Since then I've upgraded to Lake Washington. I keep her at a friends house just a few blocks away from the Magnuson boat launch. While I have only sailed about 50 times now and only in lakes I feel ready to start making some trips to the islands. It would be great to have another M-boat with me on these initial saltwater voyages. Have you thought about any dates for your Everett to PT trip? Are you confined to weekend trips or would weekdays work as well? I manage properties in the Capitol Hill area and weekdays are the best time for me to get away. Hi: I could be persuaded to come to the Puget Sound area to sail my M17 sometime this summer. Have been to the San Juan's 3 times thanks to Larry Yake's cruises there; would be interested in other parts of the area too. --Gary Hyde 2005 M17 sailboat #637 'Hydeaway 2' We can't change the wind, but we can trim our sails. Sailing is like "African Queening" thru life. On Jul 9, 2008, at 10:20 AM, Richard Everett wrote:
