Re: M_Boats: Reefing arrangements
So, 'with the boom just over the quarter and the helm hard alee', how much of your jib is backwinded?? Right now I only have one jib and it is a 130 on a CDI furler. Should I furl some of it?
If you're heaving-to in order to reduce sail, of course you would have already furled some of your genoa. But if you're just wanting to park for a while, your 130 will be fine. My boat heaves-to best with the full main and 150 genoa. You just have to adjust the amount of tension on the sheets to where the sails balance each other best. I find I have very little tension on the main sheet. Larry M17, CornDog
Thanks Larry. I look forward to practicing this coming spring. Joe Seafrog M17 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Larry E Yake" <leyake@juno.com> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Sunday, December 13, 2009 12:44 PM Subject: Re: M_Boats: Reefing arrangements
