Has anyone set up hoisting straps (slings) that will allow a Montgomery 17 to be lifted
Bob A few years back I had my M-17 hoisted onto a new trailer.......They used 2 slings about 1/3 of the way in from the bow and the stern........seemed to balance out just fine........They did use a spreadder bar to keep the slings vertical and not compress the sides as you might if only using a clevis directly overhead. And be sure to secure the straps from slipping apart (fore or aft). A few years ago the sturdiness of my M-15 was almost put to the ultimate test when the the aft strap started riding up the stern and the boat almost dropped out on the cement. Saved by a lowly barnacle ! Stan
