Small boat clothing restrictions
Joe, you mentioned the size restrictions of a 17 in this thread about clothing: "Doing everything in a cabin on my hands and knees instead of standing upright is just a constant throwback to backpacking. Only now it is a fiberglass tent instead of nylon." You reminded me of a passage in a William Snaith book, Across the Western Ocean (1966). On page 32 he says wryly that "A man must be in top physical condition to dress in a small boat at sea. It is almost as if one were trying to get dressed while bouncing on a trampoline in which the period of bounce is irregular. The sheer task of putting on trouser, sweater, and oilies needs the muscular control of a gymnast." David
Very good. Then add trying to change clothes when they are soaking wet... Joe ----- Original Message ----- From: "David C. Patterson" <davidcpatterson@msn.com> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 15, 2009 5:37 PM Subject: M_Boats: Small boat clothing restrictions
