RE: M_Boats: M15 on Craigslist SanFran area
Bill Ask anyone from the old days what they considered the Gold Standard and the Montgomery line of boats that Jerry built would be on top of the list. While Potter, Catalina and those other crappy boats that are long out of business were being delivered with serious flaws and equippment failures (cheap, flimsy, pop-riveted, leaky decks, serious cracks and hords of plastic) Jerry was building boats the proper-way. Strong, weatherly, safe, self-righting, fantastic laminating, no cracks, proper rigging, excellent woodwork, stainless fasteners and fittings. I've seem some of his boats that after 25 years still look 2 years old. Quality and sailing performance is always worth the money. $4000 for a pristine M_15 is a steal..heck, the trailer alone is worth $1200. It's worth buying just so you could sit in it and have dinner while it's in the garage for the winter. Fair winds Bob Eeg -----Original Message-----

"Serious sailers" followed by "$4,000 firm" is a double insult. This kind of nonsense is what gives Montgomery a bad name. Montgomery is indeed a respectable product--it's just not the gold standard.
