Big waves on Lake Superior!
Here's the point-and-click marine forecast for Rock of Ages, near Isle Royale on Lake Superior. Wednesday, 27-foot waves subsiding to 24 feet. I'm sure glad I'm not out there: forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=47.81315451752768&lon=-89.36279296875&site=dlh&smap=1&unit=0&lg=en&FcstType=text Gordon M-17 Sapphire Milwaukee
Aye aye to that. I flew the length of Superior 2 weeks ago on a flight to Winnipeg. Crystal clear day, no white caps visible. Lovely view of the north end ofIsle Royale as we crossed it and a good look down at Sibley Peninsula and the Sleeping Giant and points north. Gordon, Looks like you will have heavy weather in Milwaukee today. This is pretty low pressure stuff moving west to east. Same as many hurricanes, lower wind speeds (land slows it down). Now I just have to get south of it this afternoon to St. Louis. :) http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/data/analysis/935_100.gif Bill M17 Makin' Time Cambridge, ON On Tue, Oct 26, 2010 at 12:56 PM, Gordon Gilbert < Gordon@financialwriting.net> wrote:
