I will be keeping my new (to me) M15 moored on a fresh water lake in NW Indiana. Should I be concerned with the bottom finish? In the past I have finished my boats with an ablative bottom paint finish was wondering if a harder thin film finish (vc17m) would do. Hi George, Practical Sailor has an ongoing series of articles reviewing bottom paints. You might want to check their web site for some recommendations. The only thing I can say about fresh water is that it is more aggressive in terms of blisters so you want to make sure that the bottom is barrier coated.
