I've read the Monty site on this issue and found it very helpful. I found this kit at Cabellas. The kit includes 9 or 14 lb danforth type anchor, 100ft 3/8 inch nylon line and 6 ft of 1/4 inch chain. Any M15 owners share their opinion if the smaller 9lb anchor kit will be sufficient? I will be in mostly sand/mud bottoms. What I'm worried about is the holding weight capacity. The kits are listed for boats by length. I'm sure cabellas is thinking bass boat not sailboat. If this is beating a dead horse then please e-mail me directly and spare the board. Thanks for all your help so far! Doug http://www.cabelas.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Friends. Fun. Try the all-new Yahoo! Messenger. http://messenger.yahoo.com/
Doug, I used an 8 lb. Danforth on my M17 for six years on all kinds of bottoms and in various wind conditions. It worked really well. I can't remember ever wishing for a heavier one.
