Re: M_Boats: #44 making big progress...complete new keel installed.
Sean, You are to be commended for giving hull #44 a new life. Kudos for taking on such an involved project. Some other "boater" could have well chopped the keel off, plugged it, and mounted a 150hp outboard on the transom! (Jerry has a story about such an occurrence). You're as sick as I am, an M23 and an M17. Linda, Can you imagine this? I imagine it would be disgusting. Woodenboat Festival at Percival Landing today, I will of course, go look. Amazing what Montgomery owners will do rather than let a good boat die! Sent from my iPhone On May 10, 2014, at 7:22 AM, "stevetrapp" <stevetrapp@q.com> wrote:

Linda, I can not imagine a Montgomery boat converted into an outboard power boat. What happens to old boats? Set them out to sea to float away and die? I think I had a good solution for the old aluminum boat when I donated it to my boy scout camp. But the boy scout camp could use it. What does one do with an old boat that is beyond use?
