Hi Folks, Once again, I'll chime in without having read the whole thread; my excuse is that I'm at the library using webmail, and time is limited. If you are going to spend the money for "store-bought" LED lights, check out the models at Orca Green Marine (I think it's www.orcagreen.com). They are Coast Guard approved. I've had several failures of the on/off light sensor of previous Davis mega lights, so I asked them about theirs. They said it's a much more heavy-duty type. I'm not affiliated with them in any way. I was just checking on LED anchor lights for a customer this summer. He had a Hunter with a fractional rig and was spending hundreds of dollars having the bulbs replaced in his masthead anchor light. Hunter told him it was probably due to the fact that the fractional rig moves around a lot more than a masthead rig, and the conventional bulbs are fairly fragile. LEDs are a lot tougher in that respect. They are expensive though. But I liked them better than other ones at similar prices. FWIW --- Rachel
