The Pacific Sail Expo will be taking place this Wednesday 04/17/02 through Sunday 04/21/02 at Jack London Square in Oakland CA. I'm planning to launch Alina Thursday evening at the Grand Street ramp in Alameda and spend Thursday night through Sunday morning guest berthed at Marina Village. Should be a great weekend of estuary/bay sailing and boat gawking! It would be great to have other Montgomerys to sail with. Alina just got back from a few days at Jerry Montgomery's shop where she received a new Harken roller-bearing traveler and a few other little modifications. Needless to say, Jerry does very fine work! He seems to really know his way around the M-17. Guess having built several hundred of them helps :-) Hope to see some of you at the Sail Expo this weekend. Fair winds, Bob Campbell Montgomery 17 #615 "Alina" Lodi, CA
Bob, The Pacific Sail Expo program was included in the April Latitude 38 but I did not see a booth or display by Nor'Sea or Montgomery listed. Are Bob Eeg or Jerry Montgomery planning to be in Oakland? Or are they too busy trying to get the new M23 into production? Joe Kidd M15 #207 "Poco A Poco"
Joe, I believe Jerry was heading back down to work on the M-23, so I don't expect to see him or Bob Eeg at the Sail Expo. If you bring your 15, we can have our own "Montgomery Boat Expo" :-) Bob Campbell Montgomery 17 #615 "Alina" Lodi, CA -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-admin@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-admin@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Joe Kidd Sent: Sunday, April 14, 2002 11:07 PM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: M_Boats: Pacific Sail Expo Bob, The Pacific Sail Expo program was included in the April Latitude 38 but I did not see a booth or display by Nor'Sea or Montgomery listed. Bob Campbell, Joe Kidd and anyone whos interested. Jerry nor I will be doing Pacific Sail Expo this year with the Montgomerys. Joe's right.. were very busy with the new 23 project. BUT......we will have a 2002 model Nor'Sea 27 on display saturday April 20th at Marina Village (where Bob Campbell will have Alina berthed this weekend). This is for the annual Nor'Sea Fest that the Northern California Nor'sea club has every year at this time. We expect perhaps 6 to 10 Nor'Seas and a large group of Nor'Sea sailors for the big dinner saturday night. (maybe 25 to 30 people) Our 2002 model has many improvements and changes. Marina Village has the Oakland Yacht Club right on the property and the Pacific Sail Expo is probably only 2 miles away. Bob, I hope to see you sometime this weekend and please bring 1. your new little one.....or.... 2. some recent photos of your new little one. Joe, drop by if you get a chance. It was nice meeting you last year at the Boatshow. Everyone is welcome to the Nor'Sea Fest on Saturday, April 20th and it starts about 1 in the afternoon.
