I just returned from a 3,600 mile trip from Cape Cod to little Rock, Ark. and back with my new to me M-15. The p.o. had it trailered from San Antonio, Tx. to Little Rock Where I took over and dragged it from there back to Hyannis. I made it all the way without trailer lights, couldn't get the damn things to work! Several policemen passed me at night without result! Arrived in Hyannisport to the coldest day of year--- 15 degrees. Looking forward to getting her wet. Hmmm, maybe another 3,000 mile trip so. to Fla.?
Bo Congratulations nice to have a M15 on the cape. I am still looking for a M17 having regrettably sold mine. Bo, For my M-15 the trip was unbelieveably short ..... 30 miles, in Minnesota who'd a thunk it. I made up for it with our Flicka and our previous Rhodes 22. R22 came from Edenton NC 1550 one way. The Flicka came from Seattle. 1576 miles one way. That's an average of 2104 miles, round trip per boat. Rik
Congratulations on your new Monty and welcome to the club! I sort of did the reverse trip, driving from Miami to Stamford, Connecticut and back to pick up my M17. My advantage is that it was warm when I returned. I was out sailing in mid 70s weather this Sunday, South Florida winters being the best time of the year. I hope you get to enjoy yours as much as I do mine. What year is your boat? Congratulations! I have sailed my M15 numerous times out of Hyannis and a couple of time in Pleasant Bay. A fantastic sailing area. Three of us did a very nice cruise from New Bedford to Edgartown and back. You did have one of the longer trips to get yours. Mine was only 1600 round trip from Northern VA to GA. in Feb. The weather was so nice I divered to Savanah GA on the way home and went cruising for a couple of days. Doug Kelch "Seas the Day" --- bo Swartwout <caboswart@hotmail.com> wrote:
