Thanks to Dan, Tom, and Dave for the sage advice. Not what I expected at all. O.K. I will look into the 'archives' for info about mast rake and I guess the main thing is to get comfortable reefing way-earlier. I hadn't thought about whether the main was flat-enough. I really thought the mast rake was too far aft. Oh, does Bruce King really sail a M-15? I've spend far more time in Ericsons than I have in M's. Thanks! Steve M-15 631
Usually the mast rake is fine on these boats. I doubt there is much problem there. You can check. But the main thing is that the main overpowers the boat with the center of effort aft. So, too much sail. Daniel On Apr 10, 2012, at 5:22 PM, Steve Varley wrote:

Joe, I talked to the prior owner about the stern rails and the teak flooring. I ordered the flooring from the same company but the rails were $1,200-$1,600 each if I remember correctly. Way too much for my budget. They were made at the stainless shop at Svendsens Boat Works in the San Francisco area. Ed, wherever you advertise make sure to show some pic's of the gray non-skid it really makes the boat look great. I talked to Bob about that and he said it was a lot of extra work to tape off and add that separate color to the non-skid. The boat is exceptional and should sell fast. Jim E. Thanks Jim, I'll try and do that. I do have a picture of her from above but the picture doesn't do her gray decks justice. :-) On , Jim Ellsworth <j_ellsworth@earthlink.net> wrote:

It was Swensons in Alameda. I met Scott there when he was having them installed. By the way, this is a beautiful boat. Jim M-17 "Spirit" On Apr 11, 2012, at 9:54 PM, whitehead361@gmail.com wrote:

I'm not totally sure. The boats previous owner had them installed. He did say they were pricy. I think it was Svenson's in Alameda but I can't swear to that. I have had several inquiries already so I'm hopeful. :-) On , Joe Murphy <seagray@embarqmail.com> wrote:
