After just reading Michael Manns book about sailing his M15 to Hawaii, I just can't imagine what it would be like being below in an M15 and having angry swells, confused seas and high winds making a punching bag of the boat. Good thing he was in his early 20's and the bones still bend and not shatter! I have had trouble punching through some big swells and waves under certain conditions on Lake Superior with my M17. You get your speed up only to be slowed by nosing into the next big wave. I guess there is something to be said about heavy displacement. Wind speeds above 20 get pretty nerve wracking to me.
