Hello all, After rummaging through the archives here, the MSOG site (and others), and visiting Bob Eeg's operation in Ontario, I am convinced that an M-15 is the boat for me. Now for the tricky part: convincing She Who Must Be Obeyed that it's also the boat for her. To that end, I'm looking for a great picture of an M-15 under sail. One that will plant the seed of desire, if not absolutely seduce her. I've seen many good pictures so far, but none that will really close the deal. So if any of you have such a picture and could either tell me the link to it or email it to me, I would be most appreciative. What I'm looking for is this: an M-15 under full sail, full frame, with pleasant weather, happy crew--you know, something that will make her think that sailing an M-15 is the absolutely best thing one could possibly imagine. I'd just as soon not have a picture of an M-15 becalmed under an overcast sky, or with the boat heeled way over, crew getting wet or hanging on for dear life. Or a picture of a great sunset with a tiny speck of a boat in the distance, or boat on a trailer, or some such thing. I looking for something I can point to and say: Look Hon, doesn't that look like too much fun? So anyway, if any of you have such a picture and wouldn't mind sharing it, you'd be doing me a huge favor. Thank you in advance. And great archives, by the way. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= David W. You know Tod, I received an email recently that asked about doing a line drawing that wasn't 'factory' looking (was that you Craig?), ya know kinda quaint. It just hit me that the first photo you sent would be good to spin off a drawing from. Under full sail, not showing a full hull, an old Salty dog at the helm. I've had less to work with for a Company logo. Me thinks me has a candidate. Thanks Tod, Yep. They look like my initial scribbles and that boat looks familiar too (we had a Thistle a few years back). I used to have to do a sketch a day (for a grade). Just gotta do it with a Monty - red sails in the Sunset stuff. And nice enough for Bob Eeg to put on shirts (and stuff), I put my sketch pad in a 'safe place', so now I need to find it again. To clarify: I wasn't criticizing Gordon's work, just wondering whether a "rendered" whimsical drawing might be more fun on a t-shirt than a standard lines drawing . . . Examples would include the Wooden Boat Foundation main web page, and the "Good Old Boat" t-shirt "will work for boat parts" . . . Gordon has made excellent contributions to the whole t-shirt project. Just to clarify. :-) --Craig ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gordon Allgrove" <gordonallgrove@mindspring.com> To: "For and about Montgomery Sailboats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, July 29, 2004 9:28 PM Subject: Wannabe, requests M-15 picture You know Tod, I received an email recently that asked about doing a line drawing that wasn't 'factory' looking (was that you Craig?), ya know kinda quaint. Those of us who probably won't make it will appreciate very much the opportunity to live vicariously through your photos, Tod. Looking forward to seeing them. I'll try to get some decent pics at the Lyle Hess rendezvous in Sept. Gotta make a boathook mount for the camera for some novel shots. Tod

David, There are a couple of M15's in the Medford/Ashland area. Try the MSOG owners list. There was a fellow named Stan Cruse (spelling?) that had one, and I believe there is one in the White City area. Why not take the Admirable sailing....
