Puget Sound has many, many inlets and bays and islands that are good for cruising and gunkholing, and sight seeing because it is situated between the Cascade Mountains and Olympic Mountains with vistas of several snow covered peaks, along with vistas of the Seattle waterfront and other cities. However, a navigation concern are the ferries, which are a principle means of public transportation in the area.
