Fall cruise along Wisconsin's Door Peninsula
Hey, fellow Monty sailors: Want to take one more good cruise on your boat before the temperature, leaves and (eventually) snow start falling? Consider joining us on an exciting adventure along the beautiful Door Peninsula of northwest Lake Michigan! This area has something for all types of sailors (and their first mates) -- lonely islands, cozy villages and towns, multiple state parks, hiking, great fishing, shopping, marinas, hotels and B&Bs, fantastic scenery and much more. We're planning a general time frame of the third and/or fourth week in September, when the winds are steady and the crowds are gone. We'll put in at Peninsula State Park (near Ephraim) -- which has launch ramps and long-term trailer parking -- and cruise along the west shore (Green Bay side) and its numerous islands and towns. For more information, click the following links to two San Francisco Examiner articles that describe the area as one of the 10 best bareboat charter destinations in the United States. Part Two of the piece, in particular, offers some great sailing itinerary suggestions we may want to try. examiner.com/boating-in-san-francisco/bareboat-chartering-door-county-wisconsin-the-chart-less-cruised-by-part-one examiner.com/boating-in-san-francisco/bareboat-chartering-door-county-wisconsin-part-two-where-fish-stew-is-a-pyrotechnic-event If you're interested, please e-mail me or call at 952-890-7323.
