As Bill said in an earlier post, we had a great time at the SCA CC in Monterey, CA. The weather was great and the winds ok. The Potter people are great hosts and open and friendly. They had lots of sponsor gifts and handed out trophys to everyone. We were initially awarded 4th place overall, but when they corrected for our 'transgressions', we dropped to 7th. We were having such a good time it did not matter! I sailed the next morning and easily found all the race markers. During the race, there were so many boats on the bay it was hard to find them. I even won a $100 gift ceretificate from IdaSailor Marine. They have lots of goodies that you can check out at idasailor.com. I am thinking about ordering a hdpe rudder blank from them and making a new rudder. My question for Jerry and Bob is: has the rudder shape changed from 1982 and would they recommend any dimensional changes (length, width, foil shape). About all I know about rudders is that the leading and trailing edges should not be sharp. Also, are there any other boat rudders that might work on the m15? Any assistance would be appreciated.
