When I got on this list, I did not know that my e-mail would be clogged up with all kinds of meaningless e-mails. I've appreciated some valuable information that I've received, but the last few days were the straw that broke this camel's back. I've probably received 30-40 emails in the last week, the last bunch all talking about not receiving messages. Is there any way to avoid getting all this stuff? kent: lots of emails is one of the limitations of a listproc. i was on work related (higher education) listprocs back in the 'early days' that generated 100s of emails a day (resulting in 500-600 coming into my inbox) most of which was just chatter. all of these listprocs are now 'dead' as the groups have gone to forums that avoid listproc limitations (such as sending private email accidentally to the group). every few years it has been suggested that MOSG goes to a forum, but the idea has been 'voted down' by the m-boat community. MSOG listproc does have an option for a daily digest (sending you a single email with the day's activity). you can change your preferences by going to the bottom of this page - http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/montgomery_boats keith may also be able to help change you preferences (especially if you have forgotten you password) - mailto:montgomery_boats-request@mailman.xmission.com?subject=subscribe don't give up on the list ... it has actually been very quiet 'here' for the last 1/2 year (too quiet IMO). numbers - Starting: Wed Feb 2 09:11:52 MST 2011 Ending: Mon Feb 28 18:40:00 MST 2011 Messages: 146 Starting: Sat Jan 1 11:26:08 MST 2011 Ending: Sat Jan 29 07:58:02 MST 2011 Messages: 46 Starting: Thu Dec 2 14:22:51 MST 2010 Ending: Fri Dec 31 12:17:58 MST 2010 Messages: 97 Starting: Tue Nov 2 17:00:09 MDT 2010 Ending: Sun Nov 28 13:38:19 MST 2010 Messages: 105 the above are a BIG fall-off in discussion from the list's busy days just two or three years ago. example - Starting: Sun Nov 2 09:49:45 MST 2008 Ending: Sun Nov 30 18:58:56 MST 2008 Messages: 336 --- On Wed, 3/2/11, Kent Richmond <kdot1@centurytel.net> wrote: When I got on this list, I did not know that my e-mail would be clogged up with all kinds of meaningless e-mails.
