There's no question that a boom vang is very useful--I would say essential--for good mainsail trim on an M15. The Dwyer kit you link to looks a lot like the one I use. I'm not totally happy with it because I don't think it has suffienct mechanical advantage under some conditions. But it works most of the time. By all means add it or something like it... t Tom Smith & Jane Van Winkle Sandpoint, Idaho M15-345, Chukar -----Original Message----- From: s.mcclellan@attbi.com [mailto:s.mcclellan@attbi.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 12, 2003 8:52 AM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: M_Boats: RE: Boom Bale/Vang for M17 I'm intending to put a boom vang on my M15 this year -- (Does everyone agree that the Boom Vang Kit "for boats under 22 feet" at Dwyer Mast Company (http://www.dwyermast.com/kits.htm) would be adequate for an M15?) _______________________________________________ http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/montgomery_boats This message was scanned for viruses.
