Has anyone had any experience using the LEDs as cabin lights? I'm thinking of buying one but not sure how well they function as a cabin light. John Edwards Miss T M17 #3 72
Based on a previous post, I recently installed two of the Hella LED lights on my M17. They are the rectangular shaped ones with amber lens. I mounted them at the end of the fiberglass back rests, the vertical sides facing the forepeak. They illuminate forward against the fiberglass (make sure they are above the cushion line). They provide a soft, pleasing glow to the cabin, but certainly not enough to read by. I plan on mounting a flexible map light to the center post for that purpose and stronger illumination, if needed. The LED lights were about $20 each at West Marine. The location, close to the battery, was ideal; making the opening in the fiberglass using a jig saw, was not. ----- Original Message ----- From: Saltm17@aol.com To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Friday, November 08, 2002 8:15 PM Subject: M_Boats: LED lights Has anyone had any experience using the LEDs as cabin lights?
