Wooo Hoooo new jib lead project
I can't wait to get started on my next project! I just ordered some new Harken #450 jib lead cars. I'm using them in combination with Harken 40mm Carbo blocks with becket and cams#2646. I'm going to attach two Carbo blocks to the clew of the jib so I can run a continuous two purchase jib sheet. I saw this set up on a local one design racing boat "505 open" a boat of french design now being manufactured here in Southern Cal. This two purchase set up eliminates the need for winches on jibs 140sq ft or smaller. Now all I have to do is order the longer track. But I can still run this set up on my short OEM tracks in the mean time. Man I love sailboat hardware !! :) the rigging possibilities are staggering. Mark E M17 F/D #103 AMY
Mark, I used the two part sheets on an 18 ft race boat and loved the precision of the sheet adjustment. For every 2 inches you trim on the sheet the sail lead only moves an inch. My wife is with you.? She keeps asking me how we are going to go faster. LOL She's upset that the last race of the year was last weekend.
