Greets, If you haven't seen the latest issue of MAIB, John Harris has a nice looking skerry in there. It looks like a fun boat. Of great surprise, Robb White had an article that probably won't even get people up in arms. Steve

http://www.messingaboutinboats.com/ Messing About IN Boats - magazine - comes out every two weeks and is written by the subscribers for the most part. Lots of small boat adventures. "In an age of information superhighways, Messing About In Boats is a dirt road linking backyard Noahs, would-be circumnavigators, steamboat restorers and weekend racers. It embraces virtually anything that floats!" (Boston Globe Magazine, August 27, 1995). I like it a lot. Doug Kelch "Seas the Day" --- wayne yeargain <wayne@ev1.net> wrote:

Hi Wayne, To quote Ratty, "There is nothing so delightful as MESSING ABOUT IN BOATS. Simply MAIB". It's a nice bimonthly boating periodical. Published by Bob Hicks out of Mass. Steve and the quote might be a paraphrase... ----- Original Message ----- From: wayne yeargain To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2003 7:08 PM Subject: Re: M_Boats: MAIB 3/15/03 What is Maib? "There is nothing- absolutely nothing- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats." Doug, I love the "Boston Globe" Quote. "Messing About in Boats" is a great companion to "Small Craft Advior" and "Good Old Boat", essential for us Northerners and Northeasterners armchair sailing our way through the dark days of winter. ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve & Diana Parsons To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2003 11:52 PM Subject: MAIB 3/15/03 Hi Wayne, To quote Ratty, "There is nothing so delightful as MESSING ABOUT IN BOATS. Rob's most recent controversy was over plywood construction, right? ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve & Diana Parsons To: Montgomery Boat List Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2003 9:46 PM Subject: MAIB 3/15/03 Greets, If you haven't seen the latest issue of MAIB, John Harris has a nice looking skerry in there. Hi Craig, Yes, Robb made some pretty interesting comments about plywood, which drew a few irate comments from the folks that have plywood boats. I suspect that there is a lot of poor quality plywood out there, but one usually gets what one pays for.
