All this centerboard talk has me thinking. I have a recent, new to me 2008 M17. Do I need to worry about my pin coming out, or did Bob take care of this problem on the newer boats? Also, what happens when the pin falls out. The centerboard is still attached by a line, but it sure must cause a problem banging around under the hull. I've been thinking about taking my boat on a pretty good trip offshore, and I wonder if I need to glass that pin in place. Thanks, Rod Jones
Hi Rod DINGO, your boat has the pin installed with 5200. No worries. However, if the pin were to fall out, the board would hang on the rear line. Make sure the knot is still in that line...! Hope to see you at next years Lake Havasu event..! Bob Eeg www.montgomeryboats.com PS.. I still think its a good idea to install a small square of duct tape over each hole if you're going to trailer the boat long distance.
