Re: M_Boats: Looking for a new mainsail
I don't think you can go wrong with Elliot-Pattison. They've made a lot of sails for Montgomeries. I've been happy with the work they've done for me. Mark Dvorscak M23 & M15 currently former M17 owner too Sent from my U.S. Cellular® smartphone Thomas Buzzi <thomaspbuzzi@gmail.com> wrote:
Are there any domestic, custom sail makers familiar with Montgomery 17 mainsails? First hand experience appreciated. I am also considering roller furling on the jib. Is there a difference between roller furling or roller reefing a jib besides spelling? Thanks, Tom B
Check out Yager Sails in Spokane, WA, too. He makes a top quality high-performance sail. Larry Y M17 CornDog On Mon, Jul 27, 2015 at 8:52 PM, Mark Dvorscak <mdvorscak56@gmail.com> wrote:

I'm with Larry. Yager makes a fine sail. All my new M17 sails (jib, main, drifter, genoa) are from him. He has a website: www.yagersails.com t On Mon, Jul 27, 2015 at 9:21 PM, Larry Yake <larryyake@gmail.com> wrote:

Hello All, I'm building a new boom for a M17 and I need a little help on installing reef eyes and blocks on the boom. My sail is a reasonable new Elliot Patterson (sp?) with 2 lines of reef points. How far aft of the grommets on the leach should the anchor points on the boom be? I assume they should be aft at least an inch to hold tension on the foot of the reefed sail. Thanks, Ches Sugg
A couple of inches is about right. -----Original Message----- From: Chesley Sugg Sent: Friday, July 31, 2015 3:50 PM To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats Subject: M_Boats: reefing on M17 boom Hello All, I'm building a new boom for a M17 and I need a little help on installing reef eyes and blocks on the boom.
